Yemen Mocca Sanani
Mocca is one of the oldest and most traditional of the world's
coffees. It is also one of the finest! This coffee has been cultivated and
processed in the same way for centuries. Grown on irrigated mountain terraces in
northern Yemen,
water is directed through little
rock-lined channels to the roots of the plants, which are shaded from the desert
sun by rows of poplars,
and naturally dried. No chemicals are used in its production, and it is no doubt
organic.
Dried with the fruit still attached to the beans, the husk is
later removed by millstone or other primitive methods, which accounts for the
rough, irregular look of the beans. Yemen Mocca has a unique, sharp flavor;
mellow body; and a creamy, rich, distinctive winey flavor.
